Just 45-miles from New York city, this quiet and secure community allows residents to live in a charming community, while still situated close enough to the hustle and bustle of the big city. Not many other places in the country, let alone the state, can residents enjoy beautiful lakes, mountains, and farmland, while still enjoying a wide variety of amenities. There are 11 lakes spread throughout Sparta Township, the largest being Lake Mohawk. A private lake community, both its boardwalk and shopping plaza are listed in the State and National Historic Registers.
